What are wax melts?
Wax melts are pieces of wax blended with fragrance oils. Wax melts generally give off a delicate scent when cold however once melted, they emanate a much stronger scent in a larger area.
Unlike traditional candles, wax melts do not have a wick and therefore require a wax warmer. Wax warmers are usually inexpensive and can be electrical while others use a tealight candle as the heating source.
How do I use wax melts?
Wax melts are very easy to use. Simply take your desired amount and place them on your wax warmer, finally, turn on your electric warmer, otherwise light your tealight and place it in your warmer. Each session should last no longer than four hours. Once you are finished, turn off your electric warmer or remove the heat source carefully as it may be hot. The remaining wax will solidify and be ready for when you want to enjoy it again.
If you would like to change scents or dispose of leftover wax, you have two options:
◆ If the wax is fully melted, use paper towels to wipe the excess wax into the bin. Be very careful and do not touch the wax directly as it is going to be hot!
◆ If the wax is hardened, use your warmer to heat the wax for a few minutes to loosen the bottom of the wax. Once loosened, the wax will pop right out and you can dispose of it in the bin.
Our wax melts will not harm the environment as they are made from biodegradable ingredients.
Why choose wax melts over candles?
There are many reasons why some people prefer wax melts over candles. Here are a few examples:
◆ There is no open flame when you use an electric warmer, therefore it is much safer around children and pets and there is also no risk of a fire hazard.
◆ Wax melts absorb heat slower than candles as the wax is further away from the heat source, therefore the wax melt aromas can be released without diffusing too quickly. This means that wax melts generally have a longer burn time than candles, making it an affordable option to enjoy your favourite scents.
◆ Wax melts can be controlled to give off just the right amount of fragrance. If you like a stronger scent, you can place more wax on your warmer. Conversely, if you prefer a more delicate scent, you can place less wax on your warmer. You can even mix different fragrances together to create your own unique scent!
This is not to say that candles are not good; they have their benefits and can be enjoyed in their own way.
